Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know

Planning your dog's first visit? Here are answers to the questions pet parents ask us most often.

Do you offer daycare and overnight boarding?

Yes! We offer both doggy daycare and boutique home boarding in a safe, loving home environment. Whether your dog is joining us for the day or staying overnight, they'll be treated like part of the family.

What makes The Dog Society different?

We intentionally keep our groups small so every dog receives plenty of individual attention, exercise, enrichment and affection. Unlike traditional kennels, our dogs live alongside us in a relaxed home environment where they can play, rest and feel completely at ease.

What dogs do you accept?

We welcome friendly, social dogs of all breeds and sizes. Every new dog completes a Meet & Greet Assessment before their first stay so we can ensure they're comfortable in our environment and a good fit for our carefully matched groups.

Do you have a maximum number of dogs?

Yes. We believe smaller groups create a calmer, safer and more enjoyable experience for every dog. Spaces are intentionally limited, so we recommend booking well in advance, especially during peak seasons.

Will my dog be supervised?

Absolutely. Dogs are supervised throughout the day, whether they're playing, relaxing indoors or enjoying time outside. Their safety and wellbeing are always our highest priority.

Where do the dogs sleep?

Dogs sleep inside our home in a safe, comfortable environment. We want every guest to feel as relaxed as possible, just like they would at home.

Will my dog go for walks?

Yes. Boarding guests enjoy daily walks, as well as enrichment activities, supervised play and plenty of opportunities to explore, sniff and socialise.

Will I receive updates while I'm away?

Of course! We know how much you'll miss your dog, so we send regular photo and video updates throughout their stay, giving you complete peace of mind.

What do I need to bring for boarding?

Please pack:

  • Your dog's food for the duration of their stay
  • Any medication with clear instructions
  • A lead and collar or harness
  • Their favourite blanket or bed (optional but recommended)

Keeping their routine familiar helps them settle in more comfortably.

What vaccinations are required?

For the safety of all our guests, dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date with flea, tick and deworming treatments before attending daycare or boarding.

Do you accept puppies?

Yes! Puppies are welcome once they've received their age-appropriate vaccinations and are ready to socialise safely. We tailor their day to suit their age, confidence and energy levels.

My dog has never stayed away from home before. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Many of our guests are first-time boarders. We take the time to help each dog settle in at their own pace, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable and well cared for from the moment they arrive.

How do I book?

Simply get in touch via WhatsApp on 076 290 7905 or email. We'll answer any questions, arrange a Meet & Greet if needed and confirm availability. Because we keep our groups small, we recommend booking as early as possible.

What if my dog doesn't settle in?

Every dog adjusts differently, and we always put their wellbeing first. If we feel your dog is becoming overly stressed or isn't settling comfortably, we'll contact you immediately to discuss the best plan. Our goal is to ensure every dog has a safe, positive and enjoyable experience with us.
